This study shows that many children who have a stroke around the time of birth later develop epilepsy, often starting in infancy or early childhood, but some children outgrow their seizures over time—especially highlighting the importance of early monitoring, particularly when a stroke is seen on prenatal ultrasound or there is a family history of epilepsy.
