For families affected by 16p11.2 genetic syndromes, this study shows that while epilepsy is fairly common in children who had a stroke around the time of birth and later develop one‑sided cerebral palsy, most children respond well to treatment and many eventually outgrow their seizures, offering a generally hopeful long‑term outlook.
