16p11.2 Locus modulates response to satiety before the onset of obesity.
All,
This study shows that children with proximal 16p11.2 copy‑number changes have differences in how their brains signal fullness (satiety) even before weight changes appear, helping families and care teams understand that early appetite differences are biologically driven and supporting early, proactive strategies around eating support, monitoring, and medical guidance rather than waiting until obesity or underweight develops.
