Researchers used an advanced brain imaging technique called 3D transport-based morphometry to identify unique brain patterns linked to 16p11.2 deletions and duplications, achieving up to 95% accuracy in predicting the genetic variant from brain scans alone, and found these brain patterns are connected to speech/articulation differences and IQ variability in affected individuals.
