Autism NPCs from both idiopathic and CNV 16p11.2 deletion patients exhibit dysregulation of proliferation and mitogenic responses.

Proximal Deletion,

All,

This study found that in children with a proximal 16p11.2 deletion, early brain stem‑cell growth can be altered—often growing too fast—which helps families understand why head size, learning, and development can differ early on and reinforces the importance of early monitoring and developmental supports that match a child’s unique brain growth pattern rather than waiting for challenges to appear.
