This study found that abnormal spinal fluid markers — signs of inflammation and blood-brain barrier disruption — are common in people with schizophrenia, which may be relevant for families with 16p11.2 proximal deletions or duplications since these variants carry elevated risk for psychotic and schizophrenia-spectrum disorders.
