Comprehensive ABA-based interventions in the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorder – a meta-analysis.

This large study shows that comprehensive ABA‑based therapy can modestly improve thinking and daily living skills for some autistic children—especially when started younger and tailored to a child’s language level—so families affected by 16p11.2 syndromes can use this evidence to discuss whether ABA might be one helpful part of a broader, individualized support plan rather than expecting it to address every challenge.
