This brain imaging study shows that both distal 16p11.2 deletions and duplications affect brain size and key deep brain structures involved in learning and movement, helping families and clinicians understand that changes seen on MRI reflect real biological effects of the distal 16p11.2 variation and may help explain learning, developmental, and mental health differences over time.
