Environmental modifiers of developmental outcomes in genetic epilepsy.
All,
This large study shows that for children with genetic epilepsies—including 16p11.2 deletion, where environmental factors mattered especially—things like early seizure control, hospitalization burden, medication choices, and family resources can strongly influence learning, daily skills, and quality of life, empowering families and care teams to focus on early, genetics‑informed treatment and supportive environments to improve long‑term outcomes.
