This large UK study found that children with 16p11.2 and other high-risk copy number variants (CNVs) have significantly elevated rates of ADHD, anxiety, autism traits, and other psychiatric conditions compared to their unaffected siblings, and that the range of challenges was broadly similar across different CNV types—helping families understand what behavioral and developmental supports their child may need.
