This study shows that strokes occurring before or around birth can sometimes go unnoticed at first but later lead to motor, learning, speech, or seizure challenges, reminding families affected by 16p11.2 syndromes—who may already face neurodevelopmental risks—of the importance of early monitoring, imaging, and follow‑up when new movement or developmental concerns arise.
