For families affected by 16p11.2 syndromes, this study suggests that having a bovine aortic arch—an anatomical variation sometimes seen on imaging—may be linked to a higher risk of stroke later in life, but it is not a diagnosis by itself and should be viewed as one possible factor among many that doctors consider when monitoring long-term health.
