Study of the association between Schizophrenia and microduplication at the 16p11.2 locus in the Han Chinese population.

This study found that people with a microduplication at the 16p11.2 locus were significantly more likely to be diagnosed with schizophrenia, a finding confirmed in both a Chinese population study and a larger meta-analysis — suggesting families with 16p11.2 duplications may want to be aware of elevated schizophrenia risk.
