This study found that children and adults with agenesis of the corpus callosum (a missing or underdeveloped brain connector common in some 16p11.2 individuals) are more likely to use both sides of their brain for language rather than primarily the left side, which may help explain why some children with corpus callosum differences have lower verbal skills—useful knowledge for families advocating for targeted speech and language therapies.
