Vascular contributions to 16p11.2 deletion autism syndrome modeled in mice.
All,
This study shows that in proximal 16p11.2 deletion, differences in how blood vessels develop and support the brain—especially early in life and more strongly in males—may contribute to movement, learning, and activity differences, helping families understand that brain health includes blood flow and that future treatments or monitoring might one day include vascular health alongside behavioral and developmental supports.
